COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR SERIES COMING THIS AUGUST TO A NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR YOU

Series Connects Health Care Providers with

Southeast Orlando Community in Event-Styled Environment

(Orlando, FL) July 30, 2009 – Insight Magazine announced today that they will launch a consumer-focused Community Health Fair Series this August designed to connect the Southeast Orlando community to their local, specialty healthcare providers in a one-stop, event styled environment.

Each event, which is 100 percent free to attendees, will feature leading area specialty doctors, free health screenings, giveaways and more. The series will be held at four locations throughout the Lee Vista and Lake Nona area including:

  • August 5 – Renaissance Senior Center
  • August 15 – Vista Church
  • August 22 – Spring of Life Church
  • August 29 – NorthLake Park YMCA

“We believe a happy community is a healthy community and the health fair series is designed with that idea in mind,” says Jennifer Thompson, co-publisher of Insight Magazine and health fair co-creator. Helping the local area come together while allowing residents to meet some of their local  healthcare providers in a setting that is less intimidating than a typical office setting was priority one when creating the fair. “So far, it has been met with a positive reception from doctors and attendees simply because there is nothing like it in the area,” she says.

Families are welcome to attend the event, as are area residents of all ages. Categories represented will range from diet and nutrition from the experts at Nutrishop to dental with Dr. Carlos Melendez and Dr. Sheila Ramirez of Nona Smiles Cosmetic and Modern Dentistry to podiatry with Dr. Joseph Conte of Total Foot and Ankle Center in Lake Nona. “We really want to cover as wide of a spectrum of healthcare related practices as we can to ensure that the next step to a healthier you is one you can take with confidence,” says Thompson.
